Schooner Restaurant
The Schooner has been part of the Bruce family since 1968, when, while managing to raise six young children and holding down a full-time job at the Tofino Co-op, the family matriarch, Gloria Bruce, realized her dream of owning the restaurant. Her world famous Schooner burgers and fish and chips became the stuff of legend on the west coast, referred to frequently in coastal literature and remembered fondly by long-gone loggers and fishermen.
Our menu is now a beautifully sophisticated reflection of the abundant natural produce the island has to offer. For an evening dining experience, we transform our kitchen into the best steak and seafood restaurant on the coast. We invite you to explore our signature dish, the Halibut Bawden Bay, a staple of our kitchen for over 30 years. In addition, you will be enticed by our Pacific Rim hotpot, a delicious assortment of local fish, mussels, prawns and scallops, simmered in a Red Thai coconut cream sauce, nestled on a bed of lime scented basmati. For the truly ambitious, we offer the Admirals plate, a seafood feast that will be your ultimate seafood plate during your Tofino visit. We also prepare a variety of delicious steak, rib, and chicken dishes that will be enjoyed to the last morsel.
The Bruce family continues to take pride that our commitment to great food and West Coast hospitality will always be here. We live on an incredible island, and we are proud and honoured to be your hosts.
We do get busy, as such we highly recommend you call and reserve a table. Please call us at 250 725 3444.
