Lil’ Ronnie’s Beachside BBQ

Sometimes life can throw you a curve ball, and that same curve ball can actually be the gateway to a great opportunity for change and the chance to explore your passions. Such is the case with the owner of Lil’ Ronnie’s Beachside BBQ. For years whilst working as a restaurant consultant in Ontario Ronnie was also harboring and refining a secret passion for the very fine art of barbecuing at the highest level.

At the same time as a change took place in his personal circumstances, a fortuitous phone call from an old buddy living in Tofino gave Ronnie the opportunity to seize the curve ball and turn it into a home run that every food loving person living in or visiting Tofino can now savour and enjoy. Ronnie packed up his stuff and drove to Tofino with his mobile BBQ.  He added a few pop up BBQ venues along the route to entice, but ultimately disappoint, the locals as he continued on his journey westward until he arrived in Tofino, where he transformed the local food scene.

A year of operating a pop up at the back of the Schooner Restaurant was quickly transformed into his first location at the end of Campbell Street. Within a year he has opened up an excellently placed, fully licensed, second location attached to the Mackenzie Beach Resort on Mackenzie Beach Road.

Lil’ Ronnie’s presents delicious meats seasoned and BBQ’d to perfection.  Open at Mackenzie Beach Monday to Sunday from Midday to Midnight. Brunch till 3pm, regular menu till midnight.

Add Ronnie’s BBQ experience to a brunch and your regular eggs benny will never quite taste as good ever again. Lil’ Ronnie’s Beachside BBQ tantalizes the taste buds with sumptuous sandwiches, a delicious selection of BBQ’d meats and sausages sold by weight or by piece, exceptional side dishes, and a selection of local beers and well made cocktails that will leave you licking your lips and looking forward to your next visit.

The Campbell street location is closed for the season and will reopen in the spring.
