Career Exploration Event (Ages 13+)

March 14, 2023 @ 9:00 am - March 15, 2023 @ 12:30 pm

Career exploration for youth ages 13+ at Long Beach Lodge - presented by West Coast NEST
Inviting youth (grade 8 and up or ages 13+) to come and explore behind the scenes of careers in environmental science and ecotourism!
This two-day workshop will introduce youth (Grade 8 and up ages 13+) to a variety of careers in environmental science and ecotourism.
Led by experienced guides and local experts, the day will include an introduction to research skills, interpretation guiding, behind the scenes of a kayak guide, and more!
Youth will have the opportunity to broaden their perspectives on what career paths are available and learn how a love for nature and the outdoors can be translated into a profession. Hearing different people’s professional stories creates an understanding that there is never only one path to achieving a goal. This will help shape and expand youths’ ideas for their own future.
