Tofino Resort + Marina Adventure Centre
Tofino is where land meets the sea, and for many of us much of both is yet to be discovered. At the Tofino Resort + Marina Adventure Centre, our aim is to make your time in Tofino the perfect time to discover (or rediscover) the awe and magic that takes place inside all of us when we connect with nature.
Whale watching
We offer whale watching on our 12 seat zodiac (adults only) to allow you to experience the surges of the ocean and the spray of the waves on your cheek, before settling down for a very close and personal interaction with the giants of the sea. On the days when the weather may not be so kind or for families with children, we can offer the same experience on our fully enclosed 12 seat cabin cruiser.
Bear Watching
Relax and take in the stunning views as you glide along in our zodiac, close to the edge of the Inlet allowing you to view black bears while they forage for seafood left behind by the outgoing tide. The ease with which they move the giant rocks in their search for food will allow you to truly appreciate the raw power of these apex predators. The wolves, eagles, shorebirds, and other land based animals that also seek a free meal will have your camera clicking from the beginning of the trip to the end.
Fishing
Fishing on the Pacific Ocean is an experience that quickly hooks the novice fisherman and has the avid fisherman returning again and again. The expert guides on our Grady White fully equipped boats will take you to the most productive spots to make your fishing dreams a reality. Hooking a battling salmon or a deep dwelling halibut or cod and eventually bringing in a monster fish that will feed you for a week and and give you bragging rights for a month is one of life’s great pleasures.
If you are a fly fishing aficionado you can come on board with us on a guided tour or, if you are the true adventure minded type and you have a valid boat license, we can rent you one of our Stinger fly fishing boats and you can spend the day on the ocean or in the inlet, doing what you love to do most.
Hot Springs
Book a seat on of our two daily departures on our enclosed 12 seat cabin cruiser and, after a scenic 30 nautical mile boat trip from Tofino that will generally include sightings of seals, sea lions, eagles, assorted shorebirds and even dolphins or whales, you will arrive in Hot Springs Cove. This picturesque cove is an idyllic stop before you take the 20 minute walk along a wooden board walk through a pristine old growth forest towards the natural hot spring that descends down a rocky crevice and into the ocean. Time spent in the springs will leave you invigorated and refreshed. This is a 6 hour tour and we are happy to arrange lunch options through our restaurant prior to your departure. Please let us know at the time of your booking if you would like lunch or snacks provided.
Water taxi service
We offer a return journey water taxi service for the natural adventurer and explorer. Visit nearby Meares Island and explore the beautiful untouched old growth forest and feel awe struck by the pristine, clear environment that is home for some of the oldest trees in Canada.
You can also visit Lonecone Mountain and challenge yourself by hiking to the peak, where you will experience an absolutely breathtaking view of Clayoquot Sound.
For the camping enthusiast we offer trips to Vargas Island provincial park, with its remote sandy beaches. Here you can camp and enjoy the solitude and beauty of this untouched natural environment. A wolf advisory is in effect and we ask all travelers to store all food properly to discourage close encounters with these local rulers.
Other custom designed adventure based trips can also be arranged, please contact our marine adventure centre to discuss your requirements.
